Abstract
Online gambling is an advantage betting game with the help of computer or smartphone technology with the support of an internet network connection. Online gambling is still a difficult problem for the police to overcome because the spread of online gambling in the community has expanded and is difficult to reach. Through article 303 of the Criminal Code and Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE Law) the prevention of online gambling can be started by means of arrest, search, and detention. This research objective to determine the causes of the community gambling online slots in the jurisdiction of the Surakarta City Resort Police, describe the inhibiting factors of efforts to overcome online slot gambling crimes in Surakarta by the police, and describe islamic law views on online slot gambling. This research is descriptive research with an empirical juridical approach that serves to solve research problems by conducting primary data research in the field. The data collection method was carried out with field studies and literature studies which were then analyzed using deductive logic methods. The results of the study based on the formulation of the problem show that (1)There are several factors that make people gambling, one of which is economic factors, (2) The police have 3 in tackling online gambling, namely Pre-emtive educational, Preventive / preventive, Repressive (enforcement), (3) There is an Islamic law for gambling violations threatened with ta'zir.
