Abstract

The rapid development in an area causes high changes in land use. Such as land areas that were previously rice fields or undeveloped land, there is a change in the function of the land itself into built up land such as settlements. Changes in land use can be detected using a GIS (Geographical Information System) tool which can be applied as monitoring use. The high-resolution images used in this study are the 2014 and 2020 WorldView-2 images in Colomadu District. While the tool used is GIS (Geographic Information System). The image is orthorectified using the Map to Image method where the GCP points are obtained based on a field survey using Geodetic GPS. The method used for the analysis of land use change uses the Overlay method by combining old data with new data obtained from interpretation and digitizing on screen. The results obtained from this research are that the area of land that has increased is 41.84 hectares of residential area and 20.53 hectares of industrial or factory areas, while the area of reduced rice fields is 51.74 hectares and mixed gardens 12.16 hectares. Based on these findings, the dominant factor seen from the spatial approach is the very good accessibility of public facilities in the area resulting in the population rate in the village of Paulan 1.74 with an average population density of 3,814 per km2. While the factors that affect land change are taken, there are 2, namely the area, density and population rate seen from a spatial perspective, which is supported by data from Colomadu in 2015 and 2021 figures.
