Abstract

Weton can be interpreted as fortune or fortune telling on certain days. Among the Pacitan people, the Weton tradition is still strong because of beliefs as a determinant of dates or auspicious days for all aspects such as markets in Pacitan. In conducting this research the authors used a qualitative method. Weton is very important for their daily life and this tradition in earning a living and for carrying out celebrations. Then Weton also serves as a daily standard for the community, Weton according to Islamic law that people who live in Pacitan are allowed to exist because for them Weton is a tradition that is still carried out today. Pacitan people believe that the existence of this Weton makes them more careful and alert. Weton also serves as a daily standard for the community. In the study of Islamic law, the tradition of calculating Weton dino and Pasaran as a guide for celebrations is to use the theory of ushul fiqh: "Customs can be determined as law." Things that prohibit trust in Weton dino calculations and this market is when someone really believes and does not worship Allah SWT. Or forgetting his obligations as a Muslim, then the law is polytheism
