Abstract

The People's Market Youth Movement is a certified apprenticeship program from the Ministry of Trade which has a concrete program design for strengthening and empowering the People's Market. Internship activities in this program include (1) Application of SNI to People's Markets, (2) Implementation of Digitalization of People's Markets, and (3) Capacity Building of Traders through Market Schools. The internship activity was carried out at Legi Market, Surakarta City. The results of the internship show an increase in the points fulfilled, namely the points fulfilled (optimal) to as many as 35 out of 46 requirements = 76.8% including the number of registered traders, the size of the trade space, zoning, parking area, loading and unloading area, access to entry and exit of vehicles, width of corridor/gangway, management office, location of toilets and bathrooms, number of toilets, toilets for persons with disabilities, hand washing area, CCTV, prayer room, multipurpose area, health post, security post, smoking area, sanitation room, greening area, table height from food zone floor, wheelchair access, evacuation routes, fire extinguishers, water hydrants, clean water quality testing, availability of trash cans, waste transportation equipment, temporary waste disposal sites, trader identity information, documents legality, management structure, execution of tera hearings, market community empowerment program. Furthermore, the fulfilled points (not optimal) decreased to 7 out of 46 requirements = 15.21% covering breastfeeding rooms, health posts, information and communication technology facilities, market zoning information, work procedures/SOPs, market digitalization, market activation programs. The unfulfilled points also decreased to 4 out of 46 requirements = 8.67% including the number of re-measurement posts, refrigerators, liquid waste testing, waste management based on 3R
