Abstract
Advances in technology have indeed had a positive impact on several fields, one of which is in the field of education. SMK Negeri 5 SURAKARTA is a state vocational high school located at Jalan Adi Sucipto No.42, Kerten Village, Laweyan District, Surakarta City, Central Java Province. In presenting information on Counseling at SMK Negeri 5 SURAKARTA, they still use a manual system, where Counseling teachers must retrieve and process student data without using an information system, namely by writing down data regarding student violations and achievements in a book. This of course causes delays in data search, management, reporting, and the possibility of greater data loss. This research is aimed at building a Website-based Counseling information system to help Counseling teachers process student data. The development of this system uses several software, namely: PHP, MySQL, XAMPP, and Javascript. The results of the black-box testing show that the counseling guidance information system functions well as expected and the results of the usability testing show that the system received an average score of 70 indicating that the system is well accepted by users and is in a good category.
