Abstract

Blind people or people with visual impairments receive less attention in Indonesia, we can see this from the lack of proper public facilities for the blind. Many sidewalks do not have signs for the visually impaired. This makes the blind uncomfortable in carrying out their daily activities, and worries the family at home if a blind family member gets lost. The blind usually need an assistive device in the form of a stick for outdoor activities as a feeler for objects around them and in the absence of road signs for the blind, they will have difficulty doing activities, therefore sticks were developed to make it easier for the blind in carrying out outdoor activities. This stick is equipped with a proximity sensor which makes it easier for the blind to identify objects around them more precisely using a Sharp infrared sensor which will give a warning with a buzzer sound when there are obstacles to objects < 80cm from the user's distance, this stick is also equipped with GPS (Global System for Mobile Communication) that can track the whereabouts of stick users so that families at home are not worried because they can monitor the movement of stick users in real time, accurately and the position of the user can be directly seen on the world map in the Grafana application. This is because this stick uses GPRS (Global Package Radio Service) signals as a medium for sending and receiving data from the internet. This stick is also easy to use because it uses a rechargeable battery so you don't have to bother changing the battery every time the battery runs out. Keyword :
