Abstract

The occurrence of land change in the Municipality of Salatiga was marked by a decrease in the area of agricultural areas and community forests, this was in line with the increasing population of the Municipality of Salatiga, these factors led to changes in the function of land from the agricultural sector to non-agricultural sectors such as settlements, trade and services, and industry during the last 10 years. The purpose of this research is to analyze the suitability level of land for the Municipality of Salatiga in 2021 against the Spatial Planning of the City of Salatiga for 2010-2030 and to identify the effect of the presence of toll roads on land change in the Municipality of Salatiga. This research uses the method of secondary data analysis and field surveys in order to obtain more accurate data. The results of the study reveal that the level of land use suitability for the Spatial Planning in the Municipality of Salatiga in 2021 broadly has a category level according to the Spatial Planning with a total area of 3465.06 Ha or the equivalent of 61.03% of the total area of the Municipality of Salatiga, namely 5678.1 Ha, then for the category not in accordance with the Spatial Planning it has an area of 1712.68 Ha or 30.16% of the total area, and in the category not in accordance with the Spatial Planning it has an area of 500.35 Ha or 8.81% of the total area, then the results of the analysis show that there is no effect of the existence of toll roads on land change patterns in the Municipality of Salatiga so that this is not appropriate based on the distance decay theory approach used as the approach in this study.
