Abstract

ABSTRACT Extinction is a broader form of the word death and will be experienced by all living things. Examples of the extinction of living species can be seen from the extinction of dinosaurs and plants millions of years ago. Similarly to what is experienced by animals and plants, extinction is also something that will inevitably happen to humans. The Qur'an explains it in Q.S. Al-Rūm/20: 41, the point is that the damage (including extinction) that has occurred in this life is caused by the action of man himself. Departing from that problem, and from the many studies on the extinction of living things, the author felt interested in conducting research on various extinction causes in the human sphere. There is still a growing understanding that extinction is a term used to explain the death of the last species of a particular animal or plant. And Human Extinction is the death experienced by all humans caused by the apocalypse. But this assumption is not entirely true, because the author found in the Qur'an, that human extinction has several causes. By using thematic methods with the type of research library research, research will be conducted by reviewing books and literature that have been published with the support of primary and secondary data. And this research will be conducted by analytical descriptive analysis method, namely by collecting verses that allude to human extinction and analyze the verse. After research, in the Qur'an explains that the extinction causes can be seen from the extent of its territory, namely regional and mass human extinction. Extinction with regional range can result from disease outbreaks, wars, genocide, punishment for disobedience. While extinction with mass reach is caused by the apocalypse.
