Abstract
Land is one of the areas located on the surface of the earth which consists of the atmosphere, parent rocks, soil, water, topography, plants, animals and all land changes caused by human activities from ancient times to the present day. The need for land use planning because it is-related to the effectiveness and effectiveness of the land which is limited by the characteristics-and function of the land. Baki District is one-of-the areas where land use changes have occurred due to the location of the Baki District itself which is adjacent to Surakarta City. The purpose of this research is to analyze the distribution of changes in land use in Baki District, Sukoharjo Regency and find out the dominant factors that influence land use in Baki District. The-research method used-in this-study was-a-survey, more precisely, purposive sampling. The data obtained was analyzed using a qualitative method which utilizes GIS technology, namely by overlaying the land use map between 2010 and 2021. A qualitative analysis method was used to determine the dominant factors causing changes in land use in the study area. Changes in land use that occurred in Baki District were changes in land use from undeveloped land to built-up land with a change of 317.5 hectares or around 13%. The dominant factor influencing changes in land use in Baki District is a strategic location based on the frequency of respondents' answers from the interview results.
