Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period, which is marked by physical, psychological and biological changes, namely menstruation which can cause problems, one of which is dysmenorrhea. Factors that cause dysmenorrhea are due to psychological factors (stress) and poor emotional regulation. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between stress levels and emotional regulation with dysmenorrhea in young women. The research subjects were active female students of Class 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 Faculty of Psychology, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. Samples were taken from 130 people. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data is collected through a formula google survey. Technical data analysis in this study using multiple linear regression. The results of the analysis between stress levels and emotional regulation with dysmenorrhea in young women have a value of R = 0.448 and sig. p = 0.00 <0.05 means that there is a significant relationship between stress levels and emotional regulation with dysmenorrhea in young women. The results of the analysis between stress levels and dysmenorrhea in young women are r = 0.3980, sig. (1-tailed) p <0.05 means that there is a significant relationship between stress levels and dysmenorrhea in young women. The analysis between emotion regulation and dysmenorrhea in young women has a value of r = 0.186 with sig. (1-tailed) p <0.05 means that there is a negative relationship between emotion regulation and dysmenorrhea in young women. To reduce the intensity of dysmenorrhea pain, it is necessary to improve stress coping and be able to withstand and control emotions.
