Abstract

Dental.and.oral.health.problems.in.pregnant.women that often attack are periodontitis and cavities periodontal desease infection can cause exposure to the fetal placenta which can cause premature birth, low baby weight, miscarriage, preeclamsia, and stillbirth. Dental.and.oral.health.in.pregnant women. is caused by factors of hormonal changes, behavior of pregnant women, level knowledge of pregnant women and sociodemographic factors,. such. as. age, level.education, employment status and parity. This study aims to determine the relationship between sociodemographic factors and the level of knowledge of pregnant women about oral.healt. This type of research.is.a.quantitative.study using.a correlation description method. Data collection was carried.out by distributing questionnaires containing question about oral health during pregnancy. Sampling used an accidental sampling technique involving 39 respondents. Characteristics of pregnant women in this study, the majority were aged 17-25 years with last high school education, the majority were working and all aleardy had children. There.is a.significant relationship between the.level.of knowledge.and the.level of education. While thelevel of knowledge.with age, employment status and parity does not show a significant relationship. Keywords: Sociodemography, level of knowledge, dental and oral health during pregnancy.
