Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explain the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in developing student self-control and to analyze the factors supporting and inhibiting the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in developing student self-control at SMK Bina Patria 1 Sukoharjo and SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Sukoharjo. The research method uses a qualitative approach. This type of research uses field research. Methods of data collection by observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction methods, data presentation and conclusions. The results showed several similarities in the efforts of Islamic Religious Education teachers in the two schools, including the implementation and supervision of rules, the implementation of morning, congregational prayers and punishments if students violated the rules. There are supporting factors such as motivation from teachers, encouragement from parents, good relationships and awareness of students' personalities. In addition, inhibiting factors include the way students think and behave who are immature and bad associations with other students.
