Abstract

Seeing that almost most mosques in villages are only used for worship, other functions such as for trim assemblies to add Islamic insight are rarely done, in schools, there is also less portion for Islamic religious lessons, and also in this day and age, it is easier to learn in can be via the internet but it is easy to lose because what they are looking for is only a curiosity, not to be practiced and after that, it is lost and forgotten. Thus, it is necessary to add Islamic knowledge through events held in mosques. Departing from these problems, the author tries to examine the role of mosques in the development of non-formal Islamic education. Case study at the At-Taqwa Mosque in Beji village, Tulung Klaten. The barrier to the development of non-formal Islamic religious education in the Beji village community. This type of research is field research through a phenomenological approach to describe existing phenomena. Sources of data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data that has been collected is analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. This study obtained the results of the development of non-formal Islamic religious education with the speaker, parent, and participant strategy. The inhibiting factor for the development of Islamic religious education is that it comes from technological sophistication which is difficult to control so it sometimes makes it lazy to attend events at the mosque. While the supporting factors are family and living environment.
