Abstract

Equipment used as a distributor of electric power from high voltage to low voltage or vice versa is called a power transformer. With various loads, the use of electric power can affect the performance of the transformer, this occurs due to unstable loads which can cause harmonics. This study aims to measure the harmonics that occur in the Cepu PPSDM electrical system, then to find the value of the passive filter using the ETAP software simulation for the electrical network system so that it can be seen whether the harmonics that occur can be reduced. There are several methods used in this study, namely conducting research and data collection at PPSDM Cepu, which are then processed and calculated mathematically and then design data is then processed and calculated mathematically then performs filter design and is simulated in the ETAP software. After doing mathematical calculations, the results obtained are THD VR of 8.39%, THD VS of 6.56%, THD VT of 7.02%, THD IR of 12.27%, THD Is of 13.22%, THD IT of 13.6%. Because the calculation results exceed the IEEE 519-1992 standard value which states that the THD V allowed is only 5%, a filter is installed in order to minimize the impact of damage to the electric power distribution system. After installing a single tune filter on the 3rd and 5th order harmonics, the results obtained were VR of 1.80%, VS of 1.73%, and VT of 1.73%.
