Abstract
Social media is basically to share information by the account owner. Nevertheless, there is an attitude of vigilance in expressing which must also be considered and needs to be considered. Technological developments have made more and more new features appear on various social media platforms, one of which is the close friend feature on Instagram which can be used to limit users from sharing information that is considered more private. This study aims to determine privacy management through self-disclosure on Instagram's close friend feature. This study used qualitative research methods. This research was conducted with three informants and private employees by conducting direct interviews with informants. The research concludes the results of the discussion as follows: Overall, the results of interviews with three informants found that five basic assumptions in the use of CPM were implied in social media and showed that there was confidence in disclosing privacy when using the close friend feature.
