Abstract
In some areas, many people use water from wells, rivers and reservoirs, and much of the water used or consumed by the people is of low quality which can cause a lot of losses. The water around the Kendeng mountains, for example, has a high lime content or hardness. Based on these factors, a tool is needed to overcome water problems in the area. In this study the authors designed a filtration system combined with the application of technology that could monitor the system using Blynk IoT Android. The main objective of this research is of course to be able to overcome the problem of water hardness in that area by using a tool that has been made by the author. The filtration system uses tools and materials that are affordable and easy to find, for the control system using Arduino and nodeMCU as microcontrollers and smartphones as monitoring and control using the Blynk IoT application which will display water data read by sensors such as water level, TDS, and temperature. The length of time the filtration process takes is directly proportional to the TDS level in the water, the greater the TDS level, the longer it takes to perform the filtration until we get clean water fit for consumption. The average reduction in TDS content from this study was 16.5 PPM per hour. And what needs to be addressed again is the filter media, because the filter media used in this experiment is considered less effective.
