Abstract

This research has purpose to describe the introvert in Kayla “the main character” in eight grade movie (2018). The scope of this research is the personality type of introvert in Kayla , how introvert in Kayla depicted in Eight Grade Movie (2018) and why introvert behavior appear in Kayla in the movie. This research mainly employed descriptive qualitative. The researcher used Eight Grade (2018) Movie as the source of the data. The data collection method used was content analysis. Based on the analysis of the data, the introvert personality type found in Eight Grade Movie are the first introvert personality type of mind include inflexible, second, introvert personality type of feelling include quite, shy, akward, indifferent, the third, introvert personality type of sensing include seeing, and the fourt introvert personality type of intuition include has strong motivation in self, and be alone. Found introvert in Kayla depicted in this movie and reason introvert behaviour appear in Kayla. The introvert personality type in the movie is mostly represented through the entire sentences and dialogues in the movie. The plot of the movie is Kayla is an 8th grade student who is introverted, but she still wants to be able to socialize and mingle with her friends around her. Even though she is an introvert, Kayla still tries to mingle with her friends using social media.
