Abstract
Water is an important and useful natural resource for life on this earth, one of which is the koi fish ecosystem as a source of oxygen. Cleaning pond water also needs to be considered in order to maintain the sustainability of koi fish. The problem that is commonly felt by koi fish keepers is the rapid turbidity of the water caused by the deposition of food scraps and dirt on the fish. In addition, the increasing cost of electricity from the State Electricity Company can lead to wastage of energy if the pumps run 24 hours a day. This study aims to utilize sunlight as a source of energy and to make a prototype of fish pond water purification automatically. Solar panels that absorb solar energy into electricity with simple filtration combined with an automation system, an Arduino controller as processing. Turbidity sensors as a measure of the turbidity level of water can be a solution to get ideally clear water as well as a pH meter to determine the acidity of water in fish ponds. Data collection was carried out for 3 days with daily observations of 7 hours each. Based on the results of research that has been done with solar panel energy sources, water is detected at 236 NTU with a water pH of 8.8, so the water is very turbid, then the buzzer will turn on and the pump will work optimally. After 60 minutes the water is detected to be 166 NTU with a water pH of 8.4, the water is cloudy, then the buzzer will turn off and the pump will continue to work. After 90 minutes, 50 NTU of water is detected with a water pH of 7.5, the water is clean, then the buzzer will turn off and the pump will stop. From this study, it was found that the tool can work properly filtering koi pond water to be clear by utilizing solar energy sources so that keepers can save costs and be more efficient in maintaining water clarity in koi ponds.
