Abstract

During the pandemic, it was reported in several countries that there had been an increase in mental problems, one of which was anxiety disorders. Factors that cause anxiety include the environment in which the individual is located as well as a person's maturity in religion, so social support and religiosity are needed to prevent anxiety. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a relationship between social support and religiosity with anxiety during the pandemic. The hypotheses of this study include: (1) there is a relationship between social support and religiosity on anxiety, (2) there is a negative relationship between social support and anxiety, (3) there is a negative relationship between religiosity and anxiety. This study uses a correlational quantitative method, with anxiety as the dependent variable and the independent variables, namely social support and religiosity. The population in this study were early adult individuals in Gentan Village with an age range of 18-25 years who were Muslim who were taken using purposive random sampling technique. The sample is 100 people. The data collection tool uses the Anxiety Scale, Social Support Scale, and Religiosity Scale. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression. The results of multiple regression analysis showed the value of F=5.769 with sig.p=0.004(p<0.01) meaning that there was a significant relationship between social support and religiosity with anxiety. The minor hypothesis is seen from the Pearson Correlation (r) value of emotional regulation with anxiety = -0.306 with Sig.p = 0.001 (p < 0.01) meaning that there is a significant negative relationship between social support and anxiety during a pandemic, the Pearson Correlation (r) value for religiosity with anxiety=-0.294 with Sig.p=0.001 (p<0.01) meaning that there is a significant negative relationship between religiosity and anxiety. Good social support and religious activities are associated with healthier physical and psychological alignment, thus influencing a reduction in anxiety during the pandemic.
