Abstract

Pregnancy is a natural process that occurs in women. During pregnancy, several changes will be experienced by pregnant women, one of which is hormonal changes that can cause several complaints such as complaints of nausea, vomiting, to toothache. An increase in bacteria occurs in pregnant women along with an increase in the hormones esterogen and progesterone, if pregnant women do not check their oral health, it can cause swelling of the gums, so pregnant women are more susceptible to periodontal disease. In one of the health centers in Sukoharjo Regency, the number of pregnant women who checked their pregnancy in August to September 2022 was 295 people, but pregnant women who checked their oral health in the dental clinic in August to September 2022 only amounted to 3 people. This study was conducted to determine the effect of health education with module media on the level of knowledge of oral health in pregnant women. This research is a type of quantitative research, using a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-post test design. Sampling was done by accidental sampling technique and obtained a sample size of 39 respondents. Hypothesis testing was done with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. This research instrument is a knowledge questionnaire. The results showed that the p-value of the pretest and post test was 0.000. This means that health education using module media has an effect on oral health knowledge in pregnant women. Pregnant women's knowledge about oral health is better after health education with module media.
