Abstract

Ngawi Regency is one of the districts with a national food buffer. Ngawi Regency is able to fulfill food production for its territory and outside areas. Increasing population growth causes the need for land and food to increase as well. This study aims to analyze the condition of the carrying capacity of agricultural land in Ngawi Regency in 2020 and analyze the projected demand for agricultural land in Ngawi Regency in 2030. This research uses a method with mathematical calculations and uses the ArcGIS application in data visualization. While the quantitative descriptive method is used to analyze the carrying capacity of agricultural land and the demand for agricultural land in Ngawi Regency. Data collection techniques were obtained from related agencies and trusted sources in the form of rice production, population and harvested area. The results of the calculation of the carrying capacity of agricultural land in Ngawi Regency are divided into class I and class II. Most of them fall into the positive category and are able to be self-sufficient in food. The need for land in Ngawi Regency in 2030 is still quite fulfilled, starting from the area of production land or the area, this is influenced by the area of rice fields and the lack of conversion of existing land functions. There are three districts that serve as rice granaries in Ngawi Regency, namely Paron District, Kedunggalar District and Widodaren District.
