Abstract
Dua Garis Biru a movie by Gina S. Noer which has the drama genre romance. Dua Garis Biru tells the story of a pair of high school teenage lovers who have sex outside of marriage that causes Dara to become pregnant and her lover Bima to be held responsible. This research was conducted to find out how female viewers receive messages by the media that are focused on the Dua Garis Biru movie with each individual having different educational backgrounds and perspectives. The theory used by researchers is audience reception by Stuart Hall with a descriptive qualitative approach and data collection techniques using in-depth interviews. The result showed that reception of audience messages in interpreting the Dua Garis Biru film was different, audience resulted in three positions: dominant-hegemonic position, negotiated position, and oppositional position. In this case audience inlfuenced by their life experience, background, education, and also social sphere.
