Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of the tempeh chips business in Sidomakmur Village, Widodaren District, Ngawi Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic research design, using interview, observation, and documentation data collection techniques. The analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity techniques use source triangulation. The research resource persons are tempeh chip business owners, employees, and buyers. The result of this study is the management of the tempeh chips business in Sidomakmur Village, Widodaren District, Ngawi Regency, including production management and operations carried out according to procedures ranging from shopping for raw materials to ready-to-sell products. Management of human resources that produce employees with a work ethic both due to direction and guidance from the owner. Financial management is still done using the manual method in the recording. The marketing stage is carried out using word of mouth, but along with the development of technology began to use of social media. There are supporting factors in the process of managing this business, namely raw materials are easy to get because they are close to traditional markets, raw materials, namely tempeh, are already available because the husband of the business owner produces his own tempeh. However, there is an obstacle, namely the process of slicing tempeh takes a little time because it still uses a manual knife, not yet using a tempeh slicer.
