Abstract

The purpose of this study is to: (1) describe the characteristics of the HOTS question-oriented mathematical assessment instrument that has been used in grade IV students of SD Muhammadiyah 16 Surakarta, (2) describe the characteristics of the development of HOTS problem-oriented mathematical assessment instruments that have been used in grade IV students of SD Muhammadiyah 16 Surakarta, (3) test the feasibility of the HOTS problem-oriented mathematics assessment instrument that has been used in grade IV elementary school students Muhammadiyah 16 Surakarta. The type of development used in this study is Research and Development (RnD) research. The development design uses four-D (4-D) model. The results of this study show that (1) The HOTS question-based assessment instrument developed is suitable for use, this is evidenced using the validation output of material experts obtaining a value of 84.60 with the category "A" (Excellent), expert validation of questions obtaining a value of 80.76 with category "A" (Excellent) and expert validation obtaining a value of 78.84 with category "B" (Good). Based on the suggestions and validation outputs, the HOTS question-based assessment instrument is declared valid and suitable for use as an assessment instrument in grade IV mathematics learning. In addition, the feasibility was shown by data on the results of teacher responses in small group scale trials that obtained category "A" (excellent) and large-scale trials that obtained category "A" (excellent). Thus, HOTS-based mathematics assessment instruments can be declared to be of good quality and worthy of testing for students.
