Abstract

This study aims to describe the management, and supporting factors and obstacles to the management of Wayang Village tourism in Kepuhsari, Wonogiri Regency. The research uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic research design, using observation data collection techniques, interviews and documentation. Analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity technique uses source triangulation and method triangulation. The results showed that: 1) management planning includes the development of Kampung Wayang tour packages, especially workshops to the provision of homestays, culinary, and other forms of accommodation and supporting tours. 2) organizing management is in accordance with tourism needs and there are work standards for POKDARWIS, namely mandatory to have an official guide certification. 3) implementation of management by improving the quality of Human Resources (HR), namely conducting training to village communities, training for their culinary department, homestays and tourism awareness groups as managers and to increase attractiveness by conducting various promotions. 4) Management supervision is carried out directly by the tour manager in the form of supervision in compliance with the health protocols, and supervision on workers at tourist attractions. 5) The inhibiting factors are limited funds, there are still residents who do not like the existence of wayang villages, limited human resources (HR) capabilities of the community, and unqualified road infrastructure. 6) Supporting factors are the community that participates by providing supporting facilities for tourists, Kepuhsari Village which is famous for the center of the puppet craft industry, many natural potentials in Kepuhsari Village, and cooperation that is carried out in various parties, making many tourists want to visit.
