Abstract
The issue of the budget deficit and its impact on economic performance has long been the subject of debate in both developed and developing countries. The main purpose of this study is to determine the effect of each independent variable, namely inflation, exchange rates, SBI interest rates and investment on the dependent variable, namely the budget deficit, and whether Crowding In or Crowding Out will occur. This study uses quantitative secondary data in a time series from 2000-2021 obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Central Government Financial Report (LKPP). The analytical tool used is the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method. The results of this study indicate that inflation, exchange rates, SBI interest rates, investment have a positive effect on the budget deficit in Indonesia.
