Abstract

As an area directly adjacent to the sea, Pekalongan City has marine natural potential in the form of marine fish production which can be developed as a source of regional income and community livelihood, and can be relied upon as an export commodity in the form of processed marine fish products.Wisata Bahari PPNP is an educational tour about fisheries and marine affairs. Visitors can see various types of fish and fishing tools. However, currently Wisata Bahari PPNP is not as busy as it used to be, due to the lack of maintenance in the tourist environment and also the decline in environmental quality due to tidal flooding. In addition, there is a decrease in the quality of human resources in the fisheries and marine sector, the need for regeneration of business actors in the fisheries and marine sector, and the increasing damage to the marine ecosystem environment. Based on this background, a facility is needed to facilitate this. To improve the quality of human resources and regenerate business actors, an educational area is needed to produce competent human resources and introduce fisheries and marine science as early as possible. Therefore, a Marine and Fisheries Education Center is needed to support educational and recreational activities in Pekalongan City which is later expected to improve the community's economy through the marine and fisheries sector. The basic design concept used is "Sustainable Architecture" where this concept plays a role in utilizing existing potentials. at the design location so that there is a mutually supportive and beneficial reciprocal relationship between the design object and the surrounding environment, because the definition of Sustainable Architecture itself is to create and operate a healthy built environment based on resource efficiency and ecological design. The purpose of this design is to design a marine and fisheries education center that can attract public interest to participate in improving the quality of human resources in the fisheries and marine sector, and accommodate potential economic activities. The results of the design are the PPNP marine tourism concept which accommodates potential educational and economic activities for the community and applies the concept of sustainable architecture so as to reduce the impact of tidal flooding on the site.
