Abstract

During the rainy season, the process of drying clothes has its own obstacles, namely due to the weather in this season being cloudy and even raining. Of course, this also results in the need for a longer time even up to several days for the clothes to dry completely. If the clothes are wet or damp for too long, it can cause unpleasant odors on the clothes due to the growth of microorganisms/fungus on the clothes. In addition to causing unpleasant odors, these microorganisms can also cause itching and even irritation of sensitive skin. On the other hand, we also see that population development is so rapid, resulting in rapid development so that vacant land for drying clothes continues to decrease. This research develops a clothes dryer that can dry clothes quickly and is equipped with a clothes sterilizer feature with electric power. The development of this tool is expected to provide a solution to weather constraints and limited land in the process of drying clothes. This tool is made with Arduino Uno as a system control center that will regulate the work of the hardware that will be used. The hardware controlled are, Incandescent Lamp, UV Lamp, AC Fan, Buzzer, Relay, and LCD. The hardware is controlled by Arduino through a relay to turn it on or off, where the command is influenced by input data from the DHT22 Sensor that goes into the Arduino then Arduino continues the command to the relay automatically. After several times of testing this tool can work properly and normally according to the purpose for which this tool was made. The results of this study can be useful for all people if they have difficulty in drying clothes due to the rainy season and environmental factors, and can kill microorganisms that can grow on clothes.
