Abstract
The role of the mediator in the conflict over the division of inherited property by one heir to another heir is to mediate and determine the way out in the division of inheritance. The mediator communication strategy has an important role that can influence decisions in overcoming conflicts over the division of inherited property, through interpersonal communication to be easily accepted by the heirs. In this study, the method used is descriptive qualitative to describe the communication strategy of mediator in the process of deciding interpersonal conflicts in the division of inherited property. Field data was obtained from interviews with 3 speakers from community leaders who have a position in Jaten Hamlet conducted by mediators. The results showed that what was done by the mediator by paying attention to several things such as delivering face-to-face using the Face Negotiation theory strategy with the concept of Type of Conflict Management by making decisions using a compromising strategy , namely the mediator take or seek a middle ground to obtain a resolution or decision, taking into account the situation and conditions of the heirs, choosing the right time , performing in considerable intensity and Giving space for the heirs to respond is a way to find a way out in the conflict management of the division of the estate to the heirs.
