Abstract

The use of clean water for domestic needs in the study area is influenced by several factors including: variations in socio-economic conditions, namely the type of work and level of education, water sources used, and the differences between the capital city, sub-district and rural areas. This study aims to examine differences in the use of clean water for domestic needs based on socio-economic conditions, analyze differences in the use of clean water for domestic needs based on water sources used, and determine differences in the use of clean water for domestic needs between the capital city of the sub-district and rural areas in the sub-district. Gondangrejo, Karanganyar Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method by means of interviews using a questionnaire. The sampling method in this research is using stratified proportional random sampling based on the type of work and the proportion according to the number of stratum. The data analysis used in this research is quantitative descriptive analysis. The difference in the use of clean water for domestic needs in each type of work is caused by high and low economic income. A high level of education has more variations in the use of clean water compared to other levels of education, so that it makes a high level of education have a greater demand for clean water for domestic use compared to a lower level of education. The use of clean water for domestic needs is 103.06 liters/person/day while the use of clean water for domestic needs in rural areas is 85.59 liters/person/day. Based on the socio-economic conditions in the Capital District, the rural areas are larger than the rural areas. There are 2 sources of water that are used, and from these sources there are differences in the consumption of clean water for domestic use. The choice of water sources and the amount of different water uses are caused by differences in education levels. In addition, the selection of sources is also caused by the distance to the source of clean water. The use of clean water for domestic needs in the sub-district capital is greater than in rural areas. The average use of clean water for domestic needs in Gondangrejo District is 99.97 liters/person/day
