Abstract

PT. Djohartex is one of the subsidiary companies of PT.SRITEX which is engaged in the manufacturing industry in the textile sector, some problems exist in the production process, namely the layout of the warehouse for finished materials which is not good enough to cause waste transportation, the stock of finished products is still a lot in the inspecting room because the product has a defect, namely the fabric grade drops to grade C which causes the fabric to not be put into the finished material warehouse, causing a setback in the distribution process to PT.SRITEX. The purpose of this study is to identify the types of waste that exist in the production process, identify activities that are included in VA, NNVA, NVA activities, determine the most dominant waste in the production process so that improvements can be made, provide suggestions for improvements to the gray cloth production process to reduce waste. The method used is Value Stream Mapping (VSM), then PCE calculations, WAM calculations are performed and VALSAT tools are selected. Based on the results of the study, the PCE CVSM value was 79.71%, the PCE FVSM value was 92.86%, based on the results of waste identification using the WRM and WAQ questionnaire, the percentage of waste overproduction was 14.07%, waste inventory was 13.60%, waste defect was 23.91% , waste motion 11.45%, waste transportation 15.29, waste process 5.75%, waste waiting 15.92%, then the most dominant waste result is waste defect of 23.91%. Then for the results the VA value is 79.71%, the NNVA value is 6.56%, the NVA value is 13.72%. Proposed improvements made using PDCA with recommendations, namely making the latest SOP and ensuring all employees understand SOP, increasing employee competence through training, maintaining machine cleanliness, carrying out routine machine maintenance, providing materials according to production needs.
