Abstract

Feeding is one of the important factors for the survival of the fish itself. For cultivators, the provision of fish feed must be very concerned about its timeliness and efficiency. The manual feeding process is no longer efficient because it requires the presence of the owner at the fish farming location, what if the owner has to travel for several days and cannot feed on time. The purpose of this study is to design an Arduino and Android-based automatic fish feed application (IoT) in order to overcome these problems. The application is designed using the Research and Development (R&D) method by utilizing the Arduino IDE and Kodular.io software. The result of the research is an android application that can automatically schedule the release of fish feed using an internet connection. The owner can also feed the fish manually by pressing the button on the feed tool. The systems and applications that have been designed are then tested for their usefulness with blackbox testing and usability testing. The result of blackbox testing is that the system can function according to the initial design. The results of the usability test get a value of 72.5 with the information "Good" from 20 respondents.
