Abstract
Boyolali Regency has a variety of natural attractions such as Umbul Tlatar, Umbul Pengging, Cengklik Reservoir, Kedung Ombo Reservoir Tourism Wana, and Arga Merapi-Merbabu. Based on BPS 2020 data, the poverty rate in Boyolali Regency was recorded to have increased in 2019 by 9.53% and 10.18% in 2020. The largest sub-district area in Boyolali Regency is in Kemusu District, which is 81.43 km² with the smallest population density of 423 people/km². The Kedung Ombo Reservoir area is one of the largest dams in Indonesia which has the potential as a tourist attraction with its natural beauty, functions as a 22.5 megawatt hydroelectric power plant and water from the reservoir is used to irrigate 70 hectares of surrounding rice fields. Gradually the Kedung Ombo Reservoir is growing rapidly, so that apart from being used as a hydropower plant and irrigation, the local community also uses it for raising fish, as well as for tourism. Therefore, the chosen site is Wana Wisata Kedung Ombo Boyolali Reservoir as a natural educational tourism development to improve the community's economy, develop the area as a nature educational tour, and design with an eco-cultural approach. The first planning and design uses data collection methods by means of literature studies, observations, and interviews, the second method of analysis and the last method of synthesis. Wana Wisata Kedung Ombo Boyolali Reservoir can be developed as a nature education tour with an eco-cultural approach that is oriented towards culture and natural balance that can improve people's welfare. The facilities accommodated include: (1) Tracking/Jejak Wana Wisata by providing barcode boards on each tree trunk to provide information about trees. (2) TOGA Tourism as a place for sustainable medicinal plant management activities. (3) Eco Park as a place of recreation. (4) Water tourism as a place for water recreation in the form of boat vista and floating stalls. (5) Amphitheater as a cultural performing arts venue. (6) Wood Skills Training produces works of wood crafts. (7) Nature Laboratory where tree and water education shows with 3D concept. (8) Gallery Wana Wisata is a place to display works of wood crafts, leaves, twigs. (9) Culinary Tourism where to eat with fish typical of Kedung Ombo Reservoir. (10) Shopping Tour where you can buy souvenirs from wood waste and traditional herbs from medicinal plants. (11) Fishing Area where fishing hobby is channeled. (12) Fish Management Training as education for managing fish in the Kedung Ombo Reservoir. The building uses a pyramid roof as a typical culture of the surrounding community by using materials from nature, namely exposed wood and bricks.
