Abstract
Islam as a universal religion that is not bound by space and time has regulated and reminded to always protect the environment from damage. Environmental and even health damage can be caused by many things, one of which is waste. Garbage that is the result of human activities that is no longer used and dumped into the environment will cause problems if not managed properly. Garbage charity program is present as one of the solutions to waste management problems. This paper describes the management of garbage charity program in two places, namely Brajan Village and Petir Village in the context of the development of the Islamic community. So far, previous studies have mostly discussed waste issues from environmental, fiqh, and socio-economic perspectives. However, discussions related to waste alms in the perspective of maqashid sharia are still rarely carried out. The research method used is descriptive qualitative analysis comparative, with interview, observation, and documentation techniques. The results of this study show that the waste alms program has been able to realize maqashid sharia which protect religion, soul, mind, lineage and property by empowering local communities. In addition, from the results of the management of the waste, it can empower the community in the fields of religion, education, health and the economy.
