Abstract
The gap created by differences between regions in regional economic development leads to the formation of districts/cities with the category of developed and underdeveloped districts. Infrastructure development in the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta experiences uneven development which causes inequality in regional economic development. This study aims to identify the condition of the infrastructure of each district/city, identify the regional economic development of each district/city, and analyze the relationship between infrastructure development and regional economic development. This study used quantitative research methods which are analyzed with composite index analysis techniques, Klassen typology, and Spearman rank correlation. The results showed that the areas with a high level of infrastructure conditions were Yogyakarta City and Sleman Regency. Medium level infrastructure is Gunung Kidul and Bantul Regencies. The low-level infrastructure is Kulon Progo Regency. The fast growing and growing category of economic development is Yogyakarta City and Sleman Regency, the fastest growing is Gunung Kidul Regency and relatively lagging behind are Bantul Regency and Kulon Progo. The relationship shows that some infrastructures have a significant and positive correlation, namely communication infrastructure, roads, transportation services and trade.
