Abstract

This study aims to see what the assistant at the Berkas Bersinar Abadi Lamongan Foundation does to ODGJ (People with Mental Disorders). This self-disclosure is carried out as one of the mental healing processes of ODGJ by relying on impersonal communication. This research is a qualitative research with purpose sampling technique and four resource persons, namely assistants at the Berkas Bersinar Abadi Foundation, Lamongan. Data collection techniques were carried out by interview and direct observation. The validity of the data is done by data triangulation. The results showed that the self-producing process of ODGJ using Johari Window's self-disclosure. The open area strategy is carried out with a third party and asks the ODGJ directly, uncovering the hidden area by using a spiritual approach and behaving as a friend to gain the ODGJ's trust, the blind area strategy revealing the ODGJ by building their self-awareness. While in the unknown area, there are two findings, namely an unknown area that can turn into the previous third area and an area that cannot be known for sure.
