Abstract
The development of an area cannot be separated from land conversion. The construction of toll roads through Banyudono District has an impact on the development of social and economic infrastructure in the region. Banyudono, which is mostly agricultural area, is certain to experience land conversion as a result of the multiplier effect of toll road construction. The purpose of this study is (a) to analyze the spatial persistence of changes in agricultural to non-agricultural land use and determine the factors that trigger and encourage the conversion of the land. The method used in this study is secondary data analysis accompanied by field observations. Spatial analysis is used to determine the distribution of land use change while qualitative descriptive analysis is used to determine the triggers and drivers of land use change. The method used in this study is secondary data analysis accompanied by field observations. Spatial analysis is used to determine the distribution of land use change while qualitative descriptive analysis is used to determine the triggers and drivers of land use change. The results of this study show that (1) changes in land use area in Banyudono District are divided into 2 categories, namely increase and decrease. The types of land use that have increased in area are residential areas that increased by 466.274,28 m2, industrial estates increased by 272.111,01 m2, and toll roads by 319.675 m2. Meanwhile, the decrease in area occurred in agricultural land by 1.058.060,29 m2. (2) land use changes from agriculture to settlements dominate in Banyudono District with an area of 2.498.241,48 m2, (3) there are several factors that cause land conversion in the sub-district, including: (a) scarcity of subsidized fertilizers and high prices of non-subsidized fertilizers, (b) Reduced productivity and low grain selling prices, (c) high maintenance costs, (d) farmers' economic ability to decline during the pandemic and post-pandemic, (e) the selling value of agricultural land is rising, and (f) the lack of optimal attention and supervision from the local government of Boyolali District.
