Abstract

Boyolali Regency, in 2018 experienced regional expansion which geographically will affect changes in land use cover. This study has two objectives, namely: to analyze the distribution and dominant factors of land use change in the expansion area in Tamansari, Gladagsari and Wonosamodro Districts, Boyolali Regency in 2011 and 2021. The data used in this study is secondary data sourced from the Geospatial Information Agency, Sasplanet and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). This research is descriptive qualitative and quantitative with survey method. The data analysis method used comparative and overlay analysis for the distribution of change in use and descriptive statistics for the dominant factor of land use change. The results of this study indicate that the distribution of land use changes occurred due to the expansion of the region so that it experienced changes in land use with the construction of a new District Office, as well as an increase in the need for land in the area caused by internal factors, such as population, accessibility, infrastructure and facilities, convenience reach the location of the business/workplace, the ease of reaching other areas, the carrying capacity of the land and the economy. The amount of trade (the economy) is the most dominant factor, especially in Wonosamodro District with a percentage gain of 81.77%
