Abstract

A diesel engine is an internal combustion engine that uses the heat of compression to create ignition and burn the fuel that has been injected into the combustion chamber. This engine does not use spark plugs like gasoline engines or gas engines. In the diesel engine, the air that is sucked into the combustion chamber is compressed so that it reaches a high pressure and temperature. The fuel (fuel) is injected and atomized into the combustion chamber so that combustion occurs. The valve lifter (Tappet) is a cylindrical component of an OHV engine, each connected to a cam that is connected to the valve via a push rod. The valve lifter moves up and down on its introduction inside the cylinder block, when the axis of the cam rotates it also opens and closes the valve. Tappet and push road function as a transfer of power from the camshaft to rocker arm to move valve. One of the damage that occurs to the diesel engine with high working time is the rough and unresponsive sound of the engine, there are several complaints about the push rod which is often damaged as happened in this case the diesel engine experienced a rough sound in the cylinder head, this is also the case. affect the performance of the diesel engine which causes it to be less responsive.
