Abstract
Tourism development in Jember Regency still needs to be improved, because the level of tourist visits is still local, so an analysis of the potential for development based on a geographic information system (GIS) is needed. This research method uses observation methods and in-depth interviews with related parties to determine internal and external potential conditions with the support of scoring techniques. Data analysis using SWOT analysis. The results show that beach tourism objects in Jember Regency in the combined classification assessment have the potential for high class, namely Papuma Beach, medium class potential for Watu Ulo Beach and Pancer Beach, while the potential for low value class is Paseban Beach. The development destinations for each beach tourism object are very diverse, to improve the direction of development, improve accessibility, facilities, construction of photo spots, building swimming pools for children under 10 years old, building gazebos, providing boat rentals, adding restaurants, building villas, providing camping equipment rentals, maintain the characteristics of traditional coastal culture in the form of the "Sea Picking" event. Presentation of Information Based on Geographic Information Systems obtained from satellite imagery shows that the coast in Jember Regency has a coastal area that can be developed into a marine tourism area. The determination of the coastal area can be used for the location of diving, snorkeling, fishing. Therefore, these activities can be profitable and can increase the number of domestic and foreign tourist attractions.
