Abstract

Inflation is an increase in prices - general prices continuously over a certain period, affecting individuals, businessmen and governments in general is considered an important problem that must be resolved and is often the main agenda of politics and policy makers. Inflation as a continuous increase or decrease in the value of money which refers to movements in the general price level. One of the basic causes of inflation is due to economic disparities that cannot be matched by “aggregate supply”. Inflation in Indonesia has increased and decreased every year. Indonesia has experienced several times. The highest inflation in 1998 and has experienced hyperinflation during the old order. Psychologically inflation is a crisis for the people of Indonesia. This study will examine whether there is an effect of the SBI interest rate, the exchange rate and the money supply on inflation in Indonesia for the period 2001-2021. The data used is secondary data in the form of time series sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Bank Indonesia (BI), and the World Bank. Using OLS regression analysis tool, to test the regression equation, namely the Classical Assumption Test and the Statistical Test. Based on the results of the OLS test was selected as the best estimate. Because the classical assumption test shows that all tests have no classical assumption problems except for the multicollinearity test. And from the results of data processing, it was found that the SBI Interest Rate variable had a positive influence on inflation in Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Exchange Rate and the Money Supply have no significant effect on Inflation in Indonesia in 2001-2021.
