Abstract

This study aims to (1) analyze the use of Facebook-based media in learning material on global warming mitigation in class XI at SMA Negeri 2 Klaten (2) analyze the effectiveness of using Facebook-based media in learning about global warming mitigation materials at SMA Negeri 2 Klaten. This research is an experimental study using a one-group pretest-posttest design that compares the results of the pretest-posttest class XI IPS 1. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPS at SMA Negeri 2 Klaten, totaling 148 students taken by purposive sampling with the number of 37 students is the class that has the lowest average score on the mid-semester test. Data collection techniques used are observation, tests and documentation. Data analysis technique using t test and N-Gain. The results of this study indicate that (1) the use of Facebook-based media in learning material on global warming disaster mitigation is carried out offline/face to face. The learning strategy used is Scientific Learning, students are given orientation (pretest questions) about global warming mitigation and then students are given Facebook-based media learning materials, then an evaluation (posttest questions) regarding global warming mitigation material (2) learning using Facebook-based media can improve learning outcomes. students' knowledge, it is based on the average value of the pretest 39, while the average value of the posttest is 66 with 37 students. Thus the results of the research in class XI IPS 1 increase after learning using Facebook-based media on global warming mitigation material is applied, the results Paired Test Sample T-test obtained sig value (2 tailed) = 0.000 which means <0.05 so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The results of the calculation of the N-gain value of 0.7 0.7 which are included in the high effectiveness classification so that it can be concluded that the use of Facebook media is effectively used in improving learning outcomes in global warming mitigation material for class XI IPS 1 at SMA Negeri 2 Klaten.
