Abstract

Wirausaha Muda Nusantara (WIMNUS) Central Java is a youth organization engaged in education in terms of soft skill development with activities such as motivational seminars, entrepreneurship gatherings, public speaking training, business development and mentoring, as well as talent and interest development that aims to print generations entrepreneurs are experiencing a crisis due to the COVID-19. One of the steps to increase the credibility of the post-crisis organization is the willingness to learn. This study uses the Discourse of Renewal theory from Ulmer and Sellnow to analyze the post-COVID-19 crisis communication strategy carried out by WIMNUS Central Java. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach that aims to understand crisis communication strategies. The data used comes from in-depth interviews with informants and official social media accounts of WIMNUS Central Java. The data was studied using the Discourse of Renewal theory which emphasized 4 characteristics, namely organizational learning, ethical communication, prospective versus retrospective vision, and effective organizational rhetoric. The results show the characteristics of the Discourse of Renewal theory used by WIMNUS Central Java to bring newness to the organization. This is considered effective, it is proven that after the COVID-19 crisis, WIMNUS Central Java managed to gather the masses again to take part in the national motivational seminar event.
