Abstract

The design of flats is one of the alternatives to solve the problem of residential needs, especially in urban areas where the number of residents and housing needs continue to increase. Pekalongan City which also has the problem of the feasibility of living houses in settlements that are decreasing in quality due to rob floods that hit every year and get worse from year to year, in addition to the increasing housing needs but the availability of increasingly limited land requires new housing that can answer this problem, namely with the construction of flats. Pekalongan City is also known for its batik industry that has gone global, and the batik industry in Pekalongan City is not only a factory industry with a large scale but there is also a cottage industry or home industry engaged in batik crafts. In the construction of these flats with three aspects of sustainable development supported by the principles of Sustainable Architecture which includes urban ecology, energy strategy, water, waste, materials, environmental communities, economic strategy, cultural preservation and operational management.
