Abstract

Low productivity in work stations requires companies to continuously evaluate and improve work station productivity in order to increase production results. Lack of productivity of the M70 product Assembling division at PT. Sinergi Multi Distrindo Tangerang is characterized by waste (idle time), the absence of a standard time that is calculated correctly and takes into account adjustment factors and allowances, the layout of the work station is less than optimal. The Time and Motion Study method and the design of work tools/facilities are one of the methods that can be used in solving productivity problems in work stations. The purpose of this study is to increase the level of productivity based on the amount of production time, the number of movements and the distance between hands which also affect daily production results. After repairs were made, the percentage value of the assembly process improvement in the assembly subdivision of the M70 product based on the number of movements, length of production time, and hand displacement distance, respectively, were 34%, 32%, and 24%. Meanwhile, the percentage increase in the number of products per box after repair by one of the operators who became the research subject increased by 15%.
