Abstract
The ongoing urban development in Bitung City as well as the increasing population growth has an impact on various urban problems, namely the high pressure on the use of Green Open Space (RTH). One of the current developments is the construction of the Manado-Bitung toll road, from this development there has been an impact of flooding that is detrimental to the community. This study aims to determine the distribution of public green open space and to find out the availability and needs of public green open space in Bitung City. This study uses survey methods and image interpretation. The data used for this research are Sentinel-2A Image, administrative maps and data on the distribution of Bitung City green open space. The use of this image is required for the interpretation of green space objects. Based on the interpretation results obtained 600 points of public green open space objects, which are spread over the research area. The findings of this study indicate that the public green open space of Bitung City is spread in the Districts of Girian, Madidir, Maesa, and Matuari. The research area is 6,966 ha and currently has the availability of 51.88 ha of public green open space or only ± 0.74% of the total research area, in other words it has not met the public green open space standard of 20%. Meanwhile, based on the research area with an area of 6,966 Ha, it must have a need for public green open space of 1,393 ha. As well as needs based on population, the largest number is in the Matuari area and the smallest number is in the Madidir area.
