Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of child-friendly school programs in the formation of students' disciplined character and manners at SDIT Nurhidayah Surakarta. The description is related to the Child Friendly School Program as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors in shaping the character of students' discipline and manners. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research type. The subjects in this study were principals, teachers, and students, with the object of research including the implementation of the Child Friendly School Program at SDIT Nurhiddayah Surakrta. Data collection methods used in the form of observation, interviews, documentation. Data analysis techniques using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, verification/drawing conclusions. The data validation uses source triangulation and technical triangulation. The results showed that the implementation of child-friendly school programs in the formation of students' disciplined character and manners at SDIT Nurhidayah Surakarta included (1) communication, socialization of the Child Friendly School Program to all related parties such as teachers, students and parents; (2) Human resources and infrastructure resources that support the implementation of the Child Friendly School Program (3) instill discipline and courtesy through learning materials. The supporting factor is the self-awareness of the school community to always take disciplinary action and courtesy. The inhibiting factor in implementing child-friendly school programs in the formation of students' disciplined and polite character at SDIT Nurhidayah Surakarta is the lack of cooperation between the school and parents and reduced teacher supervision at school.
