Abstract

This study took the title "Framing of Ardhito Pramono's Narcotics Case Reporting in Detik.com and Kompas.com Online Media". This study aims to determine the framing of news of Ardhito Pramono's drug abuse case on online media Detik.com and Kompas.com framing news of Ardhito Pramono's drug abuse case with Zhondhang Pan's Framing Analysis. This study uses theories including framing analysis theory, social reality construction theory, and mediating the message theory from Pamela J Shoemaker and Stephen D Resse. The data sources were obtained from document study data and literature studies. The objects of this research are four news from Detik.com and four news from Kompas.com related to the Ardhito Pramono drug case. This study uses qualitative research, and the analytical technique used is the Framing Analysis Model Zhondang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. In this study, the data source triangulation validity technique was used. The results of this study indicate that the media Detik.com and Kompas.com frame news of the Ardhito Pramono drug case in a less consistent manner and do not focus on the topic of discussion of the Ardhito Pramono drug case. Detik.com and Kompas.com not only reported on the drug case experienced by Ardhito Pramono, but also several times slipped other issues about Ardhito Pramono. Not only that, the two media in some news seem to side with one side only.
