Abstract

In recent times the use of regional languages began to decline, not least the Java language. This is caused by various things, one of which is globalization. No wonder the children today more often use Indonesian or a foreign language than their own local language. Even since childhood, many children have ignored the use of the Java language, because their parents did not teach it. This made one of the Youtube content creators named Dave Jephcott advised and felt concerned, he said in one of his videos entitled “Javanese people don't click this Video”. What is interesting here is Dave Jephcott is a native Australian but he is fluent in Javanese and even cares about Javanese culture, especially the Javanese language. This is inversely proportional to the phenomenon of Javanese people at this time who are reluctant to use their own local language. This study uses the theory of reception analysis from Stuart Hall. Reception theory gives the freedom of individuals who have watched YouTube videos Londokampung "Javanese people do not click this Video" interpret the messages contained in the video. This research method uses qualitative methods by collecting data through interviews. This study uses informants from Java with daily use of Javanese krama inggil, intermediate language, and Indonesian. The results of this study indicate the audience is in a dominant position and oppositional. Audiences who use Javanese in their daily life tend to be able to receive messages from Dave's video entitled "Javanese Don't Click This Video" (dominant). Meanwhile, audiences who do not use Javanese in their daily lives tend not to be able to receive all the messages from Dave's video (oppositional). The audience has likes and matches according to the message obtained, then the audience will receive the message.
