Abstract
Boyolali Regency is one of the regencies in Central Java Province which is also experiencing land conversion. The area of paddy fields in Boyolali Regency will decrease in size due to plans to build toll roads, new terminals and the expansion of Solo's Adisumarmo airport. The area of agricultural land into non-agriculture in Boyolali Regency is decreasing in 2020, which is 22,390 Ha from 22,778 Ha in a period of 5 years. Determination of IPL is needed to determine the potential of a land in an area. The aims of this study were (1) to identify the distribution value of the land potential index in Boyolali Regency, and (2) to analyze the results of the comparison of the land potential index with the existing land use in Boyolali Regency. The method used is a tiered quantitative method that utilizes Geographic Information System (GIS) technology which is carried out by overlaying and scoring the parameters used such as slope, soil type, lithology, groundwater productivity and vulnerability. Landslide potential index in Boyolali Regency is divided into 5 classes, namely very low land potential index with an index of 2 - 6.6 covering an area of 11,690 Ha, an index of low land potential with an index of 6.7 - 11.3 covering an area of 21,360 Ha, medium land potential with an index of 11.4 - 16 covering an area of 24,436 Ha, a high land potential index with an index of 16.1 - 20.7 covering an area of 43,947 Ha, and a very high land potential index with an index of 20.8 - 25 covering an area of 8,297 Ha. high land dominates the Boyolali Regency area which is spread in almost all sub-districts in Boyolali Regency. The existing land use in the area with class i The high land potential index is settlements, fields, gardens, and rice fields
